NDIS JOB INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Your interview will include at least the following questions:
- Do you have a current Australian driver’s license?
- Do you have a current NDIS Worker Screening Check?
- Do you have a Police clearance less than 12 months old?
- Do you have the right to work in Australia?
- Can you supply a currentCovid-19 vaccination certificate?
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate if for support worker.
- Do you have a current Working With Children (WWC) Check?
- Do you have prior experience working as a disability support worker?
- Have you completed any additional qualifications?
- Do you have First Aid, CPR or Manual Handling certificates
- If you are from overseas on a visa, when does your visa expire and what are your intentions?
- If you are studying, when are your classes, and what are your working hours availabile?
- To reduce your commuting to job locations, which areas of greater Perth would you like your NDIS support work?
Skills, Qualifications & experience preferred for NDIS employment, but would be an advantage.
Certificate III or higher in Disability, Individual Support, Youth Work, or recovery work in mental health, or working towards obtaining qualification within 12 months, or lived experience in these areas.
Reliable and roadworthy motor vehicle to travel to participants’ homes in Perth and assist them in accessing the community, including comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and registration.
Perth NDIS Support Staff Tasks & Responsibilities
Support individuals with a range of activities, such as assisting to maintain their homes (domestic assistance), accessing the community, and attending appointments (social support).
Support individuals to achieve and meet their goals as specified in their NDIS plan.
Provide regular case notes and communicate with the YSL Service Manager/s about the health, well-being, and progress of the individual.
Work collaboratively with the individual and the disability services team, and provide the support that best meets the individual’s needs.
Teaching real life practical life skills such as cooking, cleaning, effective communication, and assisting to manage challenging behaviour.
Supporting to establish and maintaining relationships and interests in community activities, venues, and services.
Supporting fitness, and assisting with social, and confidence-building activities.
Medication administration duties.
Passion for providing person-centered and active support and maintaining consistency.
